Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly: This program provides non-medical care for functionally impaired homebound elderly. This service is designed to prevent isolation and to provide information for homebound seniors. Extensive volunteer recruitment and training is conducted for this program.

Personal Emergency Response System: This medical response system provides a wireless lifeline transmitter pendant to any senior in Tioga County who is at risk. This pendant helps provide an effective means to contact emergency personnel. This service is administered, managed, operated and maintained by department staff and partners with the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department to answer the response calls and send appropriate emergency personnel. It provides assurance to people that help is near with a press of a button.

Emergency Cards: A joint project of the Department of Aging and Chemung Canal Trust, an Emergency Card provides quick access to medical history and a record of current medications for Emergency Medical Technicians responding to the homes of senior citizens.
