Multi-Family Program Offers:
- Reduction of monthly energy costs
- Identifies and addresses health and
safety issues
- Improves indoor air quality
- Increases comfort levels
- Lowers maintenance costs
- Saves on natural resources
What Services are Offered
to Multi-Family Landlords?
- Testing, cleaning, repairing and
replacing heating systems and domestic hot water tanks
- Sealing up of the house to reduce
drafts
- Insulation of attics, walls, floors,
and crawl-spaces
- Repair or weatherstripping of windows
and doors
- Testing and replacing of refrigerators
- Installation
of carbon monoxide and fire detectors
How does the Multi-Family
Weatherization Program Work?
- Current applications from all
tenants
- Pre energy audit by trained
auditors (1-4 units done in-house), or a pre energy audit by
a multi-family partner
(for 5 or more units)
- Acceptance of in-kind service by landlord
for 25% of total workscope
- Installation of specific products and services
by weatherization specialists
- Post energy audit to
ensure quality and effectiveness of all work
Who is Eligible?
- Program is free to all income
eligible tenants (See Guidelines) At least fifty percent must
meet eligibility requirements.
- Building owner must agree to receive weatherization
assistance
- Building owner responsible
for scaled audit fee (See Guidelines)
- Building owner provides an "in-kind" service

From?
The Weatherization agency is funded by the New York State Department
of Housing and Community Renewal
